Job Description

Shape the future of cooling at the Chemours Discovery Hub (Newark, DE) Picture your day beginning in a modern lab at our Chemours Discovery Hub. You power up a test stand for an immersion bath, validate data from a direct-to-chip rig, and huddle with application engineers to plan field trials at a customer data center. By afternoon, youre distilling insights from heat flux curves and pressure drop traces, then translating those findings into clear recommendations for our technical leaders. Thats a typical day for our Two013Phase Thermal Management R&D Scientist. About the team and impact Within Thermal & Specialty Solutions, we advance low-GWP technologies for refrigerants, propellants, fire protection, foam blowing, and liquid cooling. Our cross-functional experts in fluorine chemistry, catalysis, process and formulation science, analytical methods, and application development partner to deliver market-ready, sustainable solutions that enable clean energy, advanced electronics, high-performance computing/AI, climate-friendly cooling, and more. What you will do Execute R&D initiatives in two-phase liquid cooling for data centers and adjacent markets aligned to Chemours growth strategy. Design, run, and manage multiple parallel experiments in lab and field settings for immersion and direct-to-chip systems. Analyze results, extract insights, and communicate conclusions and next steps to technical leadership and partners. Collaborate across internal teams, customers, and external collaborators to accelerate application development. Build fluency in fluorochemical science and advanced thermal-management technologies. Required qualifications MS in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry with 2+ years combined academic/industry experience in thermal management, refrigeration, or HVAC; OR BS in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry with 5+ years relevant industry experience in thermal management, refrigeration, or HVAC. Solid command of refrigeration, heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics. Comfort working >75% of the time in laboratory environments, handling multiple concurrent experiments and deadlines. Proactive, self-directed, and safety-minded with strong communication and presentation abilities. Preferred background Hands-on experience with refrigerants or liquid cooling systems, particularly two-phase technologies.
