$38.48 - $50.01 / hour Summary Responsible for technical supervision, coordination, and day-to-day technical oversight of Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and assigned Histology specialty testing within Lee Health Anatomical Pathology services. Provides direct technical leadership to Immunohistochemistry staff and serves as the primary technical resource for IHC testing, antibody optimization, validation and verification, quality control, staining performance, instrumentation, troubleshooting, competency, regulatory compliance, and technical standardization. Works closely with the Regional Anatomical Pathology Lab Manager, pathologists, laboratory leadership, and Histology staff to develop, implement, and maintain standardized IHC policies, procedures, workflows, quality initiatives, and technical best practices. Ensures Immunohistochemistry testing consistently meets established standards for staining quality, diagnostic reliability, reproducibility, turnaround time, patient safety, productivity, and regulatory compliance. Provides technical oversight of antibody testing, detection systems, special stains, control material, reagent management, instrumentation, assay validation/verification, and other assigned advanced Histology procedures.

Requirements Education:

Associates degree in Histotechnology, Biological Sciences, or a related field required. Bachelors or masters degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of three years of progressive laboratory leadership experience, including supervisory or management experience in Anatomical Pathology required. Multi-site or regional leadership experience preferred.

Certification:

Histotechnician (HT) or Scientist in Histotechnology (HTL) from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) required. Qualification in Immunohistochemistry (QIHC) from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) required.

License:

Current State of Florida Department of Health laboratory supervisory license appropriate to the individuals discipline and assigned scope of responsibility required.

Other:

Must demonstrate advanced technical knowledge of Immunohistochemistry, Histotechnology, antibody performance, staining methodology, quality control, assay validation/verification, instrumentation, and regulatory requirements. Requires strong technical leadership, analytical, organizational, communication, troubleshooting, quality-management, and problem-solving skills. Must demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrates and promotes teamwork, accountability, collaboration, and excellent customer service. Requires strong analytical, financial, organizational, change management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead standardized operations across multiple facilities and competing priorities.
