About Romano Group Romano Group LLC is a Miami-based contract manufacturer specializing in cosmetic, personal care, hair care, skin care, and dietary supplement products. We are seeking an experienced Cosmetic & Personal Care Formulation Chemist / Senior Formulator to join our in-house R&D team. The ideal candidate is a hands-on formulator who can independently develop products from concept through commercialization, troubleshoot technical and manufacturing issues, and support scale-up into full production. Dietary supplement formulation experience is highly desirable. Key Responsibilities Develop and improve cosmetic and personal care formulations from concept through commercialization. Formulate shampoos, conditioners, hair treatments, styling products, serums, creams, lotions, cleansers, body washes, intimate care products, oils, balms, and other personal care products. Prepare laboratory prototypes and evaluate pH, viscosity, appearance, texture, fragrance, stability, and performance. Troubleshoot separation, viscosity changes, clarity, precipitation, incompatibility, preservation, and other formulation issues. Select appropriate raw materials and identify suitable alternatives when ingredients are unavailable or cost prohibitive. Support pilot batches, manufacturing scale-up, and production troubleshooting. Maintain accurate formulas, manufacturing procedures, specifications, and development records. Work with Production, Quality Control, Purchasing, Regulatory, suppliers, and Management. Assist with ingredient declarations, INCI nomenclature, technical documentation, and customer formulation questions. Dietary Supplement Experience Experience with dietary supplement formulation is preferred and may include: Powders and sachets Capsules and tablets Liquid dietary supplements Oral liquids, drops, tincture-style products, and flavored liquid supplements Vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and botanical extracts Flavor and sweetener systems Solubility, dispersibility, and suspension challenges Powder flow and blending Supplement Facts and basic FDA dietary supplement labeling requirements Dietary supplement experience is preferred but not required for a highly qualified Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Science, Food Science, Biology, or a related field preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on cosmetic or personal care formulation experience preferred . Strong understanding of cosmetic raw materials and ingredient functionality. Experience with emulsions, surfactant systems, conditioning systems, serums, gels, and anhydrous products. Strong knowledge of pH adjustment, viscosity modification, emulsification, solubilization, preservation, and stability. Experience taking formulas from laboratory scale into commercial manufacturing. Strong troubleshooting, documentation, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Contract manufacturing or private-label experience is a plus. Compensation $48,000-$70,000+ annually, depending on experience Compensation will be based on experience, technical capability, formulation knowledge, and demonstrated ability to independently develop and commercialize products. Exceptional candidates with strong cosmetic, dietary supplement, scale-up, and contract-manufacturing experience may be considered above the stated range.
