We are seeking an experienced Gummy Formulator to join our manufacturing team. This position will be responsible for developing, improving, scaling, and troubleshooting gummy formulations for commercial production. The ideal candidate has direct, hands-on experience developing gummies in a manufacturing or product development environment and understands how ingredients, temperature, pH, moisture, texture, flavor, and processing conditions impact the finished product. Responsibilities Develop new gummy formulations from concept through commercial production Improve and reformulate existing gummy products Create formulations using pectin, gelatin, and other gummy systems Develop appropriate ingredient ratios for flavor, texture, stability, and consistency Conduct bench-top trials and pilot batches Scale formulations from R&D batches to full production Troubleshoot issues involving texture, sticking, sweating, setting, curing, moisture, flavor, color, ingredient compatibility, shelf stability, and production performance Establish manufacturing specifications and processing parameters Work directly with production personnel to ensure formulas can be consistently manufactured at scale Create and maintain formulation documents, batch records, specifications, and manufacturing instructions Evaluate raw materials and recommend alternative ingredients when necessary Assist with cost optimization without compromising product quality Support product testing, stability testing, and quality control Work with Quality, Operations, Purchasing, and Production teams during new product launches Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary formulations and manufacturing processes Qualifications Prior gummy formulation experience required Experience formulating gummies for commercial manufacturing strongly preferred Strong knowledge of pectin and/or gelatin gummy systems Understanding of sugars, syrups, acids, flavors, colors, functional ingredients, and other gummy components Experience taking formulations from laboratory development through production scale-up Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities Understanding of GMP manufacturing environments Ability to accurately document formulas, procedures, and manufacturing specifications Comfortable working hands-on in both an R&D and production environment Knowledge or experience in pharmaceutical and/or nutraceutical formulation is a strong plus Experience working with vitamins, minerals, botanical extracts, functional ingredients, supplements, or other active ingredients is preferred Food Science, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, Nutraceutical Science, or related education is preferred, but equivalent hands-on formulation experience will be considered Compensation $96,000 per year Full-time position. Ideal Candidate We are specifically looking for someone who has actually formulated and manufactured gummies , understands the challenges involved in scaling a formula, and is comfortable working directly with production equipment and manufacturing personnel. Experience with nutraceutical, dietary supplement, or pharmaceutical formulations is highly valued, particularly when incorporating functional or active ingredients into gummy products. Candidates with only general food manufacturing experience but no direct gummy formulation experience may not be a fit for this position.
