The company partners with emerging and established brands to take products from concept to commercialization, offering full-service capabilities across research and development, formulation, manufacturing, and packaging. HBM is particularly known for its expertise in gummies, liquid supplements, and topical skincare products, combining innovation with scalable production and strict quality standards. Operating out of two facilities in Pinellas County, Florida—located just 13 minutes apart—HBM is structured for efficient production, coordination, and growth. With a focus on reliability, speed to market, and consistent product performance, HBM supports clients through private label, custom, and contract manufacturing solutions tailored to meet a wide range of product and scaling needs. Your Purpose We are seeking a hands-on Formulator with 1+ years of experience to support the development and optimization of gummy supplements, liquid dietary supplements, and cosmeceutical skincare products . This role will be responsible for prototype creation, formula optimization, and supporting manufacturing scale-up while collaborating with cross-functional teams including Quality, Regulatory, and Operations. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in the lab, enjoys troubleshooting, and can translate product concepts into scalable, compliant, and high-performing finished goods. Responsibilities Develop and optimize formulations for: Gummy supplements Liquid supplements (solutions, suspensions, emulsions, syrups, shots) Cosmeceuticals (creams, serums, lotions, gels, cleansers, toners) Create prototypes and iterate formulas based on sensory feedback, ingredient performance, and manufacturing feasibility. Perform ingredient evaluation and compatibility testing. Maintain detailed and organized documentation for formulation trials, formula versions, and development work. Support scale-up activities from benchtop to pilot and production runs, including troubleshooting production and process issues. Collaborate with Production to ensure formulations can be manufactured consistently, efficiently, and cost-effectively. Partner with Quality and Regulatory teams to ensure products meet specifications and align with compliance and labeling requirements. Identify and evaluate raw material alternatives, including working with suppliers to source ingredients and support substitutions when needed. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Cosmetic Science, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or related field (or equivalent practical experience). 1+ years of hands-on formulation experience , ideally within nutraceuticals, dietary supplements, cosmetics/personal care, or consumer packaged goods. Experience formulating at least two of the following: Gummy supplements Liquid dietary supplements Topical skincare / cosmeceuticals Experience creating and iterating prototypes in a lab setting using standard lab equipment. Ability to support scale-up and troubleshoot manufacturing challenges (texture issues, separation, sedimentation, stickiness, crystallization, etc.). Strong organizational and documentation skills. Knowledge of basic regulatory constraints for dietary supplements and cosmetics, including compliant ingredient usage, labeling, and claims considerations.
