On-site Now hiring! R&D Scientist Attapulgus (Onsite) Relocation assistance provided. We are looking for a R&D Scientist to join our Refining Catalyst team in Attapulgus, GA. Come create chemistry with us! BASF's Refinery Catalysts business is a global market leader in refinery catalysts technologies. The business develops and produces catalysts that enable refineries to manufacture transportation fuels from both traditional and renewable feedstocks. Our group focusses on the research, development, scale up and testing of innovative catalyst for the refining/FCC market. As R&D Scientist, you will execute projects focused on developing new innovative products either for FCC base catalysts or additives. Your role will also include scale-up and development of such products to commercial scale. The role could also include development of deactivation/testing methods. As a R&D Scientist, you create chemistry by... Utilizing your advanced degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Material Science to drive development of new catalyst formulations, improvement of existing products while working with technicians in the lab, pilot plant and plant trial activities. Conducting well designed, safe laboratory and pilot plant experiments, submitting samples for analysis and interpreting results with minimal supervision. Leveraging your problem-solving abilities, to work with team leader or other colleagues to optimize performance of existing products or processes. Providing and communicating results in an impactful matter to relevant stakeholders in the form of presentations or reports. Maybe responsible for managing and leading technicians and carrying out performance reviews etc. Creating Standard operating procedures and actively participate in all BASF safety practices and programs. If you... Have a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Material science OR a M.S. degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Material Science with 3+ years of related experience in catalyst development. Possess an in-depth knowledge of research principles and techniques with proven ability to also work outside the field of specialization as well as familiarity with heterogeneous catalysis formulations and manfucaturing would be preferred. Have strong written/verbal communicatin, data analysis, organization, time management and interpersonal skills. Having a background in use of statistical tools such as DOE is a plus. Having digitization skills is a plus. Are proficient with MS Office tools.
