Job Description

Scientist I | Analytical Chemistry (QC Lab) Make an Impact in Pharmaceutical Quality & Innovation We're looking for a motivated Scientist I to join our growing Quality Control team! If you're passionate about analytical chemistry, enjoy hands-on lab work, and want to contribute to the quality and safety of life-saving pharmaceutical products—this is your opportunity. In this role, you'll work with advanced analytical instrumentation, take ownership of testing initiatives, and collaborate with a supportive, high-performing team. You'll also have the opportunity to mentor junior staff and build your technical expertise in a fast-paced, regulated environment. What You'll Do Perform routine and non-routine analytical testing using techniques such as HPLC, TLC, FTIR, pH, UV-Vis, and ICP-MS (with a strong focus on chromatography). Independently execute protocols and ensure accurate, compliant data generation. Troubleshoot instrumentation and drive effective solutions to maintain lab efficiency. Communicate findings, challenges, and updates clearly with team members and leadership. Support documentation by updating SOPs, Methods of Analysis (MOAs), and Specifications in Documentum. Ensure all work aligns with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and quality standards. Provide guidance and mentorship to Associate Scientists as needed. Conduct peer reviews of data to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance. Effectively manage your workload in alignment with departmental priorities.
What You Bring Required:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related science 1-4 years of experience in a pharmaceutical or regulated laboratory setting Hands-on experience with chromatographic techniques (especially HPLC) Familiarity with chromatography data systems (e.g., Empower) Working knowledge of cGMP and FDA regulations Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) Nice to
Have:

Work Environment & Schedule Location:
100% onsite in a modern analytical lab
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Flexible start time between 7:00 AM - 9:00 AM) Join a team of 14 skilled professionals within the QC organization Work in a high-impact lab supporting finished product release Engage in specialized processes requiring training and gowning procedures Who You Are You're detail-oriented, accountable, and thrive in a dynamic environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of River Forest, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
