Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform analytical studies which determine the concentration of analytes in a variety of biological matrices (i.e., plant and animal tissues), environmental matrices (i.e., soils waters, and air), as well as other materials to monitor potential human exposures. Perform complex laboratory tasks with no supervision. Comply with Good Laboratory Practices ("GLP"), study protcols, company Standard Operating Procedures ("SOP")'s as applicable to the assignments. Perform sample handling and processing; prepare chemical standards and samples for extraction and analysis; and maintain cleanliness of work area. Process data and assist with basic preparation of reports having minimal complexity, with supervisory review and edits; ability to Quality Control ("QC") numerical data. Maintain accurate and complete data files. Complete daily logs and equipment notebooks as required and serve as Responsible Invididual ("RI") for GLP equipment, some of which may also include some instrumentation. Maintain and operate standard lab equipment (e.g., homogenizers, centrifuges, pipettes, balances, and pH meters) and, as trained, more sophicated instrumentation including analytical instrumentation. Trouble-shoot problems to resolve issues that arise. Evaluate data and assist with preparation of reports; ability to Quality Control ("QC") and interpret all data and final reports. Serve as a Principle Analytical Investigator ("PAI"), Analytical Study Director. Perform PAI and/or Study Director duties including: responsible for all aspects of a study including protocol preparation, data collection, data analysis, interpretation of results, and report preparation; defend the conduct of the study if challenged by a regulatory authority or other external customer; provide study critcal information to lab personnel and the sponsor representative in a timely manner and assists in schedule optimization. Schedule is determined based on business needs which may include week-ends and/or Holidays. Lead team of 2-3 chemists. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor, Master's or PhD Degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry, highly preferred. Bachelor degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry with five (5) or more years experience; and/or Master's in Chemistry or Biochemistry with three (3) or more years of relevant experience, or PhD in Chemistry or Biochemistry with minimal experience, highly preferred. Three (3) or more years direct or indirect experience with Principal Analytical Investigator ("PAI") and/or Analytical Study Director duties, preferred. Advanced knowledge of data processing with minimal supervision; beginning knowledge in method development and instrument trouble shooting. Working knowledge with hardware and/or software experience with LC

Sciex instruments and software experience , required. Previous supervisory experience needed. Proficient computer skills with most current database and software applications needed. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English fluently, or with necessary assistance, while performing the job duties which require this ability.

Physical Demands:

Capable of wearing a respirator to participate in study activities and to dispose of hazardous waste. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, depth perceptions, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms. Able to work in highly regulated, high pace environment. Must be able to walk, stand 50% to 80% of the time, squat, bend, kneel, climb, push, pull, use hands; reach with hands and arms overhead; speak and hear effectively in team and/or one-on-one conversations.

Work Environment:

Office setting in a tempeture controlled environment. Interaction with employees and visitors.
