From $65,000 Job description: Lab Link Testing aims to become a prominent cannabis testing provider by employing talented individuals that are accustomed to industry best practices and implementing reliable analytical testing solutions developed in-house. Our operations facility is an 8000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art cannabis safety and compliance testing laboratory in Madison Heights, MI that provides analytical chemistry and microbiology testing services for cannabis cultivators, processors, and manufacturers as mandated by the State of Michigan Cannabis Regulatory Agency (CRA). Our testing capabilities include validated instrumentation featuring the latest evolutions in analytical testing technology. Experience in the operation and maintenance of various laboratory instrumentation; including but not limited to GC-MS, HPLC, UPLC, LC-MS, with a preference for ThermoScientific technology using Chromeleon 7 software. Applicants must be proven in instrument set-up, performance verification, method troubleshooting, data analysis and reporting, and equipment maintenance. Other responsibilities for this role includes tracking of the sample queue, batching and scheduling analytical runs, preparing and/or extracting samples for analysis, instrument analysis, reporting data and results, troubleshooting instrument performance issues, entering data into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and Michigan's statewide seed-to-sale marijuana tracking system METRC, method development and validation, authoring of SOP and work instructions as needed, completing logs, maintaining a contamination free lab environment, and ensuring the adherence to the Michigan CRA testing guidelines, as well as
ISO 17025.

Laboratory Manger Required Qualifications:
Employee must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license. At least 2 years of experience in an analytical laboratory including preparing and analyzing samples as well as statistical analysis and data interpretation from a high-throughput platform. Solid understanding of quality control principles, good laboratory practices, regulatory terminology, sample preparation practices, laboratory safety practices, method development/optimization techniques, operating protocols, and software commonly used in a laboratory setting. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office 365 applications. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Willingness to be schedule-flexible when necessary.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Analytical Chemistry, Botany, Biochemistry, Organic Chemistry, or equivalent with appropriate analytical testing coursework. Similar degrees which include analytical testing coursework may be considered based on the laboratory's requirements. Degrees must be from an accredited college or university in order to be considered. All else need not apply. Candidates with 2+ years of relevant cannabis laboratory experience will be given preference. Candidates with experience in a production laboratory environment will also be considered.

Essential Functions:
Technical Perform routine extractions and prepare samples of various matrices for analysis on a GC-MS platform. Be accustomed to high-throughput production laboratory practices. Responsible for tracking and prioritizing consumable and sample inventory to ensure no interruption of workflow. Prepare various standards and solutions as needed. 2015 Standard requirements. Perform other job-related tasks (within the scope of experience and training) as specified by the laboratory manager/director. Knowledge of quantitative data analysis, review, and troubleshooting ability which is generated from the instruments. Interpret and evaluate QA/QC + sample result data to ensure compliance with quality control specifications. Review and enter completed test data into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and Michigan's statewide seed-to-sale marijuana tracking system Metrc. Train cross-functionally and maintain an understanding and knowledge of the other analytical methods employed throughout the laboratory. Establish routine preventive maintenance schedules and perform troubleshooting activities on instruments and equipment to ensure data integrity and prevent interruptions to workflow. Compliance and Safety Participates in routine QA/QC and compliance activities including proficiency testing, demonstrations of competency, audits, and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Learns and maintains compliance with all applicable legal requirements, standards, and procedures including, but not limited to, those within the Quality Management System, Compliance Process, Company Code of Conduct, and State of Michigan Cannabis Regulatory Agency Testing Guidelines. Performs work in a consistently safe manner, with knowledge of and adherence to laboratory safety protocols to prevent injury due to chemical or biological hazards. Participates in the development and validation of new methods to respond to changes in current best practices, technologies, regulatory framework, or customer needs. Authors and reviews technical documents such as SOPs and work instructions. Provides scientific interpretation of results to supervisors, management, or customers as required. Trains other chemists as required. Maintains appropriate records, logs, and documentation.
