Position Summary We are seeking a hands-on Chemist to support the production, quality, formulation, and research & development of hypochlorous acid (HOCl) solutions and related chemical products. This position will play an important role in optimizing existing formulations, developing new products, evaluating additional ingredients, and establishing reliable and scalable manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate has a strong background in chemistry, formulation science, and laboratory practices, with an interest in developing practical, high-quality chemical products from laboratory scale through commercial production. Key ResponsibilitiesHOCl Production & Process Development Develop, optimize, and document processes for producing stable, consistent HOCl solutions. Monitor key chemical parameters and product characteristics to ensure batch-to-batch consistency. Develop laboratory and production-scale procedures, specifications, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Troubleshoot production and formulation issues and identify root causes. Evaluate process improvements to increase product stability, performance, efficiency, and scalability. Establish appropriate testing and quality-control procedures for raw materials and finished products. Assist in the manufacturing process of in house batches Formulation & Product Development Assist in developing and optimizing chemical formulations for new and existing products. Research and evaluate additional ingredients that may improve product performance, stability, appearance, application, or shelf life. Investigate compatibility between HOCl and potential formulation ingredients. Conduct controlled laboratory experiments to evaluate different concentrations, combinations, and processing conditions. Develop prototypes and conduct comparative testing. Maintain detailed laboratory records and document experimental results and conclusions. Work closely with management, manufacturing, and other technical personnel to transition successful formulations into production. Research & Development Research new technologies, ingredients, materials, and formulation approaches relevant to the company's products. Design and execute experiments based on defined product-development objectives. Analyze experimental data and make recommendations based on results. Develop testing methodologies to evaluate product performance and stability. Conduct accelerated and real-time stability studies as appropriate. Identify opportunities for improving existing products and developing new applications. Quality, Safety & Compliance Follow appropriate laboratory safety, chemical handling, and manufacturing procedures. Maintain accurate documentation of formulations, experiments, batch records, test results, and raw materials. Help establish product specifications and quality standards. Support appropriate regulatory and compliance activities related to chemical products. Ensure laboratory and production activities are conducted in accordance with applicable safety and regulatory requirements. Assist with development of Hazardous Waste Protocols, identify areas of waste Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Formulation Science, or a related field. Experience with chemical formulation, product development, laboratory testing, or chemical manufacturing preferred. Strong understanding of chemistry, chemical compatibility, concentrations, pH, oxidation/reduction chemistry, and solution preparation. Experience designing and conducting laboratory experiments. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills. Ability to maintain accurate laboratory and production documentation. Ability to work independently and take ownership of R D projects. Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality and safety. Preferred Experience Experience with hypochlorous acid (HOCl) or electrochemically generated chlorine chemistry. Experience with disinfectant, sanitizer, cleaning, personal-care, agricultural, or other aqueous chemical formulations. Experience evaluating ingredient compatibility and formulation stability. Familiarity with analytical testing and laboratory instrumentation. Experience taking a formulation from laboratory development through scale-up and commercial production. Familiarity with chemical product regulatory requirements and documentation. What You'll Do in This Role This is a hands-on, laboratory-focused position.
