- Technologist I Minneapolis, MN, United States Job Description The R D Technologist will work extensively in the Heavy Equipment market segment supporting Powder coating technologies.
- Communicating effectively and promptly with managers, peers, and other stakeholders. This includes delivering formal and informal presentations as needed.
- Hands-on development: formulating, processing, applying, curing, and testing of new powder coating products.
- Participating in support of scale-up and manufacturing of new products.
- Analyzing data to identify trends, resolve customer issues, and assess information for project advancement.
- Leading projects with support from supervisor and/or a mentor chemist.
- Establishing timelines and identifying resource needs to support project work.
- Gaining knowledge/skills with raw materials, instrumentation, extrusion, additives, and substrates to develop superior performance coatings and perform troubleshooting when problems arise.
- Providing timely and accurate data to help resolve field complaints, raw material issues, manufacturing problems, and support existing and new product development
- Use of SDS and raw materials management system
- Adherence to safety policies and laboratory documentation.
- May directly work with chemists or technicians to support team project goals.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future (e.g., OPT, CPT, H1B, EB-1,etc.)
- Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math field.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to determine the difference between colors so you can correctly tint paint to the colors desired by customers.
- Proven project management skills
- Computer knowledge for basic inputting, communication, and data analysis
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in powder coating research and development
- Experience working in a laboratory environment
- Experience in powder and/or liquid coating application
