Be a part of MURR Job Description At the University of Missouri Research Reactor (MURR) we are currently recruiting an exceptional individual with a passion for science and desire to seek excellence in a dynamic, stimulating environment. As a Quality Control Chemist I, you will perform GMP analytical testing on radiopharmaceuticals manufactured at MURR to release product for human use. A successful candidate will have a strong attention to detail, comprehensive and creative problem-solving skills, and leadership skills/potential. Join us in our pursuit to produce innovative, world-class radiopharmaceuticals that positively impact patients' lives worldwide. This position will take part in the testing and release of GMP radiochemical products which will be used in pharmaceutical formulations for human patients. This position is part of an approved Career Progression Plan within the Quality Control Department. Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Key Duties Performed by This Position Will Include This Quality Control Chemist I position will report to the Manager - QC Chemistry and will focus on testing final products and performing activities required to keep testing ongoing from week to week. Candidates should be committed to excellence and quality and believe in the University Mission of being a world-class research institution.
  • Perform testing on multiple radiopharmaceutical lots manufactured on a weekly basis
  • Employ sound technical writing skills involving deviation reports, out of specification investigation reports, laboratory investigation reports, etc.
  • Contribute to the proper maintenance of the laboratory, laboratory equipment, supplies, records, and samples.
  • Maintain Quality System documents and records
  • Perform or assist with other Quality Unit assigned activities related to MURR facility responsibilities associated with FDA, NRC, and DOT regulations.
  • Perform analytical method development including the preparation and execution of method validation protocols and associated final reports.
  • Determine the color and/or clarity of various solutions, acids, powders and reagents.
  • Complete various analytical techniques, such as pipetting, balance use, standard and sample preparation, and analytical instrumentation use Successful candidates will be persuasive communicators with exceptional organizational and time management skills.

Additionally, customer service, confidentiality, integrity, and commitment to university values in their work. Must be available for reliable and consistent onsite work. Shift Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. Preferred Qualifications Experience working within a lab Experience working within a cGMP regulated environment Educational background in Chemistry Detail oriented individual committed to high quality work and documentation
