Job Description
Formulation Chemist Position Overview Our client is seeking a skilled Forumulation Chemist to support product development and manufacturing initiatives. This role is responsible for compounding formulations, troubleshooting chemical and process issues in production, supporting trials, and developing new products in compliance with internal specifications and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate thrives in a lab and production environment and enjoys cross-functional collaboration. Key Responsibilities Create, develop, and test chemical compounds and formulations used in finished products Apply professional judgment to evaluate, select, and modify chemical methods and techniques Support and supervise production trials for new product development and process improvements Troubleshoot production-related chemical and process issues Maintain accurate and compliant documentation for all project assignments Review technical reports prepared by junior staff for accuracy and compliance with standards Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and engineering Operate, maintain, and test laboratory equipment; identify equipment issues and recommend or perform repairs Draft and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety documentation Ensure compliance with environmental health and safety (EHS) standards, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemical materials Stay current on federal, state, local, and internal safety and regulatory requirements Perform additional duties as assigned Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field Minimum of 2 years of hands-on laboratory or production chemistry experience Strong understanding of chemical testing methods and processes Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills High attention to detail with strong organizational skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar tools for technical documentation and reporting Ability to interpret chemical interactions and their effects on fabric or material properties Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of related professional experience Work Environment & Physical Requirements Work is performed in laboratory and production facility settings Regular exposure to chemicals and chemical compounds Ability to lift up to 25 pounds Ability to traverse and access all areas of the production floor Schedule & Travel Full-time, exempt position Evening and weekend work may be required based on business needs Limited travel (
