Location:
Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) The City of Nashua is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Division of Public Works in the Wastewater Department as the Analytical Chemist. Take your career to the next level with us as opportunities for growth and development await!
JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position performs chemical and bacteriological analysis of wastewater; performs quality control analysis; prepares reagents and standard solutions; prepares lab reports and charts; accountable for all weekend lab responsibilities; monitors wastewater discharge for EPA permit compliance; communicates with staff to ensure wastewater process control. This is a full-time position, Wednesday through Sunday, 6:45 am to 3:45 pm, is part of the UAW Professional Collective Bargaining Unit, and provides an excellent work life balance. The position is grade 11, with an hourly rate not to exceed $28.97.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry or applicable environmental science plus a minimum of one year laboratory/relevant work experience Three (3) to five (5) years of related work experience; Experience considered in place of education Ability to carry 50 lb. wastewater sampler Must possess a valid driver's license
