In this pivotal role, you will lead complex analytical and research projects, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. Your expertise will drive innovation in product development, quality control, and process optimization, contributing to the advancement of our scientific initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your extensive laboratory experience and technical knowledge in a fast-paced, collaborative environment dedicated to excellence. Responsibilities Review new Product Development Requests (PDRs) and collaborate with other Chemists, Technical Leads, Managers, and/or above for clarification; assign tentative project timelines. Independently develop new formulations to meet specified technical and aesthetic goals as well. Prepare lab batches for submission to customers, revise formulas based on feedback, and ensure timely sample delivery. Maintain a detailed and organized lab notebook including all observations, test results, and formulation notes. Design lab-scale formulation processes including order of addition, critical raw materials, processing parameters, and preliminary specifications. Coordinate effectively with other chemists and project stakeholders to ensure smooth workflow and successful sample execution. Meet with raw material vendors to explore new technologies, ingredients, and innovation opportunities. Document and communicate formulation details, costing, and status updates to internal and external stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality. Contribute actively to R D initiatives by offering expertise, innovative ideas, and fostering a strong team environment. Ensure lab cleanliness, organization, and compliance with safety standards. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field required. 5-10 years of hands-on formulation experience in cosmetics, personal care, or related industries. Solid understanding of chemistry, formulation principles, and raw material functionality. Proficiency with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP). Experience in training or mentoring junior team members in lab operations and compliance. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines. Comfortable with mathematical calculations and data interpretation. Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook). Demonstrates initiative, adaptability, and willingness to take on new responsibilities. Collaborative team player with a positive, professional demeanor. Fluent in English; additional language skills are a plus. Experience in chemistry compounding/formulation required; cosmetic industry experience strongly preferred. In addition to core technical expertise, we offer a unique development opportunity for our chemists. Selected candidates may participate in a temporary assignment at our headquarters in Korea as part of our training program. Assignment durations may be approximately 3 months or up to 1 year, and candidates must be willing and able to accommodate this requirement. For these assignments, we provide flights, housing, per diem, and an incentive bonus.
