Assistant Vice President, Technical Services Position Purpose and Objectives Provides technical support to solid dose new order entry and technical needs in manufacturing of tablets/capsules. Essential Job Functions Work closely with Assistant Vice President of Technical Services (New Formulations & Specifications) to support technical needs of new formulations order entry for solid oral dosage forms. Conduct pilot tablet and encapsulation trials for feasibility and stability evaluations. Keep accurate and detailed records of experiments including results and conclusions. Develop and quote new solid dose formulas. Identify Critical Control Process Parameters Recognizes the need for constant evaluation and improvements to new and existing raw materials. Strive towards simplifying, harmonizing and/or optimizing product formulations by utilizing best excipients selection and by optimizing manufacturing processes. Seeks out and uses new tools, processes and procedures to add value to the company. Write technical reports as requested. Comply with Health, Safety and Environmental regulations for the position. Perform other duties as required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required Working knowledge of tablet presses, coating pans, encapsulation machines, granulation, milling and blending equipment. Hands-on experience conducting R&D trials. Maintains a proficiency in technical knowledge/skills and is current with developments and trends in their area of expertise. Work independently and collaboratively within teams with minimal supervision Supervisory Responsibility Supervises new formulation review and setup in an accurate and timely manner. Supervises lab interns in VitaQuest's R&D internship partnership with Montclair State University. Working Conditions This position operates in a professional office and R&D laboratory environment. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, or a job-related discipline. At least two years of technical experience in formulations & technical manufacturing support roles. Other equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
