Environmental Field Chemist Clean Harbors is hiring an Environmental Field Chemist - Hazardous Waste to support customers in managing and disposing of hazardous materials safely and compliantly. In this role, you will sample, identify, and classify waste streams, ensure proper packaging, labeling, and manifesting, and coordinate transportation to approved facilities. You will conduct field tests, maintain accurate records, and support emergency spill response and industrial cleaning projects. This position is ideal for detail-oriented professionals passionate about environmental protection, safety, and regulatory compliance. Perform field sampling, profiling, and classification of hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams at customer sites Oversee proper containerization, labeling, and documentation of waste in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (RCRA, DOT, OSHA) Conduct on-site chemical compatibility checks and basic field analyses to ensure safe handling and transport Coordinate with operations and transportation teams to schedule pickups, manifests, and disposal routes Maintain accurate field logs, chain-of-custody records, and electronic data entry for all waste activities Support emergency spill response and remediation projects as needed, following strict safety protocols Operate and maintain field equipment, PPE, and monitoring instruments in safe working condition Communicate technical findings and recommendations to customers and internal stakeholders Participate in safety meetings, audits, and training; consistently follow Clean Harbors' safety-first procedures Assist with industrial cleaning, lab pack, and recycling projects to support integrated environmental services Hazardous waste profiling RCRA compliance DOT hazardous materials regulations OSHA safety practices Chemical sampling and analysis Lab pack management Waste manifesting and documentation Personal protective equipment (PPE) usage Emergency spill response support Field instrumentation operation Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k 40-hour
