Job Description
We are looking for a Nutraceutical and Dietary Formulation Scientist to join AHF, Inc, a fast-growing nutraceutical and dietary supplements developer and manufacturer. This person will help develop dietary supplements for our customers as well as our own brand. The Formulation Scientist is a key role in the organization and will contribute highly to the company's ongoing success and growth. We're looking for someone who's motivated, detail-oriented, and ready to take ownership of projects. The ideal candidate has some hands-on experience in product formulation especially with common dosage forms like capsules, powders, or tablets and is eager to expand their skills in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Responsibilities (and not limited to): but not limited to: Document method development and product performance testing, including disintegration, dissolution, hygroscopicity, and stability under accelerated and real-time conditions. Coordinate with Formulators and Process Engineers to obtain new materials, develop processing methods, and ensure regulatory compliance of ingredients and excipients. Maintain a safe and organized working environment, ensuring proper handling, labeling, and storage of raw materials, intermediates, and final prototypes according to lab safety protocols. Assist with external laboratory testing submissions (e.g., microbiological testing, heavy metals, identity testing), including sample preparation, submission coordination, and results tracking. Properly document all experiments, processing parameters, and testing data in laboratory notebooks and/or electronic data systems following established SOPs and cGMP principles. Troubleshoot powder blending, flowability, and compression challenges during product development and support continuous improvement initiatives. Other duties as assigned by Senior Management to support the successful development and commercialization of powder-based dietary supplement products.
Qualifications / Experience
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, or Pharmaceutical Process Engineering; Master's degree preferred. 3- 7 years' experience in formulation technology and development in dietary supplements, nutraceuticals, or medical foods Knowledge and experience with nutritional, supplement and pharmaceutical ingredients. Knowledge and experience with various dosage forms including capsules, tablets, powders, liquids, and soft-gel Experience with manufacturing equipment and lab techniques Experience with preparing technical reports/protocols and product development reports. Extensive knowledge of cGMP / cGLP guidelines Extensive knowledge of pharmaceutical science, formulation and technology Knowledge of analytical concepts and technologySkills and Abilities:
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and technical documentation. Strong math skills; basic R programming knowledge preferred, other languages a plus; willingness to learn is essential. Engineering mindset with focus on problem-solving and process improvement. Eager to learn and grow skills in automation and digital tools. Able to handle multiple tasks with attention to detail and deadlines.Physical Demands:
