Remote Scientist Sr I GOJO Industries parental leave, 401(k) United States, Ohio, Akron May 14, 2026 Role Objective Independently leads testing and analysis with occasional guidance from Principal Scientists, Engineers and Management. Creates and leads test planning and efforts. Manages complex projects while consistently meeting deadlines. Demonstrates broad technical expertise appropriate for their role and leverages experience to solve problems. Builds science that can be leveraged and advanced in collaboration with the greater technical community. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Manages the development, implementation, and evaluation of complex designs and testing to ensure success of projects Co-leads cross-functional technical project teams, delivers solutions, and reports summaries and interpretation of data to stakeholders and/or senior leadership Contributes to strategy development Coaches and develops technical personnel to meet personal and enterprise capability goals Develops or performs statistical analysis for data interpretation and problem-solving Improves current products and processes and creates new processes to ensure quality and efficiency Initiates and leads collaboration efforts with internal and external stakeholders Breaks down complex initiatives and utilizes resources and tools such as process mapping for efficiencies and improved productivity Actively seeks knowledge and new technical skills for new development projects or to solve complex problems Demonstrates technical leadership on industry committees and technical forums and presents at industry meetings, including oral or poster presentations May lead-author or co-author scientific publications Proactively identifies and attends training to stay current on technical and scientific advances and identifies training opportunities for others in the group Develops novel test methods to meet testing and project needs Writes and approves SOPs and Work Instructions as well as other technical documentation (e.g., memos, protocols, and reports) Trains others on advanced test procedures and techniques Leads creation of new LIMS functionality for the assigned lab May serve as EPA GLP personnel

Analytical:

Manages and conducts all analytical tests and instrumentation Leads development of new analytical methods Leads problem-solving, maintenance, and repair of analytical instruments and tools Facilitates opportunities to expand the team's testing capability Manages method development initiatives independently, working with

Technicians, Associate Scientists, and Scientists Development Lab:

Leads development of new test and test fixtures

Microbiology:

Leads development of new microbiological test methods Collaborates with external experts to develop or evaluate new testing protocols and methods Oversees test development and validations for new laboratory equipment

Product Development:

Partners with raw material suppliers and completes research to incorporate into formula development Identifies current and next-generation raw materials and chemistries Designs testing initiatives with support from the product development team, executes experiments, completes analyses, and presents data to cross-functional teams Creates lab batches, develops new formulas, experiments with raw materials, and performs tests on raw materials and formulas

Skin Care Science:

Designs and leads skin and aesthetic studies to screen prototypes and explore or substantiate claims Proactively develops test methods to assess product performance in aesthetics, skin, cleaning, or other product performance attributes Manages a partnership with product management, product development, and market research to design a test plan that assesses product performance according to user requirements Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline (ex. chemistry, microbiology, biology) Minimum ten (10) years' relevant experience preferred Basic operating experience with Microsoft Office. Experience with LIMS preferred Supervision/Coordination May supervise temporary lab workers, Technicians, Associate Scientists, and Scientists. 00 per year. Within this range, an offer will depend on factors such as level of experience and technical competencies relevant to this specific role, as well as internal equity considerations.
