As soon as possible Position Overview Our client is seeking a QC Analytical Chemist to support laboratory and production operations within a cosmetics/personal care manufacturing facility. This position will ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory testing and analysis while supporting ongoing production and quality needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in analytical chemistry and hands-on laboratory testing experience. Experience in environmental, commercial, manufacturing, or other analytical laboratory settings may be considered. This is an excellent opportunity for a chemistry professional to gain hands-on experience supporting water quality, GMP compliance, and finished product testing in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of raw materials, water samples, and finished products. Collect water samples from designated ports throughout the manufacturing facility to monitor water quality and support GMP compliance. Perform testing for TOC, pH, color, odor, and appearance on facility water systems. Test finished cosmetic and personal care products for: pH Viscosity Specific gravity Color Odor Appearance Support testing and performance validation of the facility's circulating water systems. Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot laboratory and production-related quality issues. Prepare technical documentation, laboratory records, and reports accurately and in a timely manner. Verify and follow established analytical methods and procedures. Calibrate and maintain analytical laboratory instrumentation as needed. Manage laboratory standards, chemicals, and inventory. Follow laboratory safety procedures and proper chemical handling protocols. Ensure testing activities comply with applicable industry standards, GMP requirements, and regulatory expectations. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment. Support additional laboratory activities and testing requirements based on production needs. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline required. Strong analytical chemistry background. Hands-on laboratory testing experience. Experience with quantitative and qualitative analytical techniques. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate data and documentation. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with production and laboratory teams. Knowledge of laboratory safety and chemical handling procedures. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and support changing production priorities. Backgrounds Considered Candidates may come from a variety of analytical laboratory environments, including: Analytical chemistry Quality control/QC laboratories Cosmetics or personal care manufacturing Environmental laboratories Environmental science/remediation Commercial testing laboratories Chemical manufacturing Other regulated laboratory environments Direct cosmetics experience is not required for the right analytical chemistry candidate. Work Environment Laboratory-based position within a cosmetics/personal care manufacturing facility. Analytical laboratory currently consists of approximately 2-4 team members , with potential growth based on business needs. Position will provide hands-on exposure to both laboratory testing and manufacturing operations. Current facility water-system validation work is winding down, with the primary focus shifting toward ongoing production and laboratory support . Peak production season is currently driving the need for additional laboratory support. Schedule Monday-Friday, approximately 8:00 AM-5:00/5:30 PM . Some overtime may be required. Occasional Saturday shifts may be needed depending on production demands. Flexibility is important during periods of increased production activity.
Pay:
$30.00 - $31.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
