Job Description
Seeking a Chemist to provide accurate, efficient analytical services by performing sample extractions, supporting laboratory operations, and contributing to process improvement in alignment with the Company's mission. Key Responsibilities Sample Extraction & Laboratory Operations Perform sample extractions per documented methods and SOPs, including blending, shaking, Soxhlet extraction, digestion, SPE, distillation/condensation, liquid-liquid partitioning, and chemical derivatization Prepare reagents and analytical working standards; operate laboratory equipment including blenders, nitrogen- and roto-evaporators, shakers, pH meters, and centrifuges Complete extraction-related QC checks and documentation as required; maintain a clean working environment Technical Support & Troubleshooting Troubleshoot extraction procedures, complex matrix sample processing, and lab contamination issues Perform calibration, maintenance, and verification of general laboratory instruments including pH meters, centrifuges, balances, vacuum pumps, water baths, freezers, and pipettes; notify supervisor of deviations or repair needs May perform observational results entry into LIMS, including BRIX dilutions, moisture, and pH Collaboration & Development Assist Chemist II and III with reference calibration standard preparation, R D bench work, and SOP revision and development Support sample preparation, glassware/labware cleaning, and other team members as directed; may assist in task-specific training depending on experience Continuous Improvement Propose and implement changes to improve extraction quality, method performance, cost efficiency, and turnaround time Safety & Compliance Work safely using appropriate PPE; remain informed of chemical and equipment hazards; report all accidents or unsafe conditions to the safety committee or management Qualifications B.S. in Chemistry or related science, or equivalent combination of education and experience Familiarity with sample preparation, extraction, and general bench chemistry techniques Experience using and maintaining laboratory support equipment (pH meters, centrifuges, balances, vacuum pumps, water baths, freezers, pipettes) Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills High emotional intelligence, professionalism, and cross-cultural communication ability Proficient in MS Office and Adobe Acrobat Experience with LC/GC/Inorganic instrumentation and international business environments a plus
