Contract to hire SUMMARY The Analytical QC Scientist is a laboratory role providing analytical support to the analytical team. This role requires an experienced analyst who can perform routine and compendial testing independently, with minimal oversight, and who becomes proficient on assigned methods and instrumentation quickly.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform sample preparation, labeling, and handling tasks independently. Execute routine and compendial analytical testing (HPLC, GC, CE, SoloVPE) independently, interpreting results and flagging anomalies without close supervision. Utilize Empower software for data acquisition, processing, and review of chromatographic results. Assist with laboratory housekeeping, inventory checks, and instrument set-up/clean-down. Maintain accurate, legible records in laboratory notebooks per GMP and good documentation practices. Follow all safety, quality, and SOP requirements in daily laboratory activities. Quickly build proficiency on new methods and instrumentation with minimal repeated training; demonstrate readiness to work independently within a short onboarding period. Support senior team members and cross-functional initiatives as needed. Must be available to work weekend shifts as required by testing schedules and business needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field. 5-8 years of laboratory/analytical experience, preferably in a QC or analytical development environment. Demonstrated ability to work independently and execute assigned testing with minimal oversight. Strong understanding of laboratory safety and good documentation practices (GMP/GDP). Willingness and availability to work weekend shifts as part of a rotating schedule. Technical Skills & Competencies Demonstrated method competency in HPLC, GC, CE, and SoloVPE; able to run these independently and interpret data. Proficiency with Empower software for chromatographic data acquisition, processing, and review. Solid understanding of compendial testing requirements (e.g., USP/EP/ICH). Fast learner able to achieve independent execution on new methods/instruments quickly. Strong organizational habits, reliability, and attention to detail. Effective communication and teamwork skills.
