Job Description

SHR Talent is seeking a Senior Materials Engineer to support the development, optimization, and validation of high-performance engineered polymers for demanding applications. This is a hands-on role working closely with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, and Purchasing to develop materials, solve technical challenges, and successfully transition formulations from laboratory development to production. Key Responsibilities Select and evaluate polymer resins based on application and performance requirements. Develop and optimize compounded formulations for customer and product needs. Design and execute testing to evaluate mechanical, thermal, chemical, and processing performance. Analyze results and refine formulations to meet performance targets. Partner with Manufacturing to scale formulations and troubleshoot processing challenges. Provide technical guidance on materials, processing, and product performance. Prepare technical reports, documentation, and application recommendations. Collaborate cross-functionally on new product development and continuous improvement. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field; Master's preferred. 5+ years of experience in polymer materials, formulation, materials engineering, or a related manufacturing environment. Strong hands-on experience with polymer selection, compounding, formulation development, and materials testing. Experience with mechanical, thermal, chemical, and/or rheological characterization. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and effectively with cross-functional teams. Customer or supplier technical experience is a plus. Preferred Experience Engineering polymers, additive manufacturing, advanced composites, or other high-performance materials. Polymer characterization techniques such as tensile testing, DSC/TGA, rheology, or spectroscopy. Material market research, technology scouting, or new product development. Why Join?
