Vice President of R&D Summary/Objective:

Support the company by developing new products, supporting existing products, and interacting with customers Essential Functions Conduct bench-scale synthesis to support new product development Participate in process improvement and plant trials as required Provide technical support to the manufacturing plant Consult with quality control department and provide technical input as required Write reports on experiments and be able to communicate the results to management and customers Innovate new products and processes Mentor and develop chemists Be able to work and communicate effectively with personnel from quality control, production, marketing, and management Interact with sales representatives and customers to address technical issues and explore innovations Occasional travel to trade shows or customer visits with sales personnel may be required Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position; days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Required Education and Experience Master's degree in chemistry preferred. Bachelor's degree acceptable with appropriate level of experience. > 3 years' experience in a chemical laboratory Experience in surfactant chemistry synthesis is highly desired Experience with epichlorohydrin chemistry is beneficial.
