About the Role The R D Chemist supports the development and optimization of chemical technologies within Baroid, with a focus on production chemicals and fluid systems. This role applies laboratory expertise, chemical knowledge, and data-driven analysis to solve technical challenges, improve product performance, and contribute to the development of new technologies. Working under the guidance of senior scientists and advisors, the position supports innovation, product optimization, and intellectual property development. Candidates whose qualifications exceed the minimum requirements may be considered for a higher-level role (Senior R D Chemist) based on business needs. Key Responsibilities

- Conduct laboratory testing and experimentation to support development and optimization of Baroid chemical products and fluid systems.
- Apply HSE standards and best practices in all laboratory and research activities.
- Select and execute appropriate test methods; analyze data and draw meaningful technical conclusions.
- Support development of new technologies, products, and applications, including contributions to intellectual property.
- Collaborate with senior scientists, advisors, and cross-functional teams to advance R D initiatives.
- Provide technical support for production chemicals, including troubleshooting and performance improvement.
- Document experimental procedures, results, and recommendations in technical reports.
- Engage with internal technical teams and, as needed, support customer-facing technical discussions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of laboratory methods, testing protocols, and workflows.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and advancements in chemistry and materials science.
- Participate in professional societies and technical forums related to area of specialization.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in laboratory, R D, or chemical-related rolesOR Master's degree in Chemistry or related discipline with 0-2 years of experience.
- Strong understanding of laboratory techniques, chemical analysis, and experimental design.
- Ability to interpret data and translate results into practical recommendations.
- Knowledge of laboratory HSE standards and safe work practices. Preferred
- Experience with production chemicals, drilling fluids, or industrial chemical applications (Baroid-relevant).
- Exposure to oil & gas, industrial minerals, or related industries.
- Experience contributing to product development, formulation, or process optimization.
- Familiarity with intellectual property development or technical documentation.
- Strong communication skills with ability to collaborate across technical teams.
