  • $65,000 a year 13 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Qualifications Data analysis skills Manufacturing facility experience Bachelor's degree Attention to detail Pharmaceutical company experience Time management Pharmaceutical manufacturing facility experience Full Job Description Conduct the following tests or use the following pieces of equipment to release raw materials, components, in-process materials, and finished products: ○ Compare the organoleptic properties of incoming samples to previously approved reserve samples and/or reference standards ○ HPLC ○ pH ○ Titrations/wet chemistry ○ FTIR ○ Moisture analysis Research pharmacopeial methods and scientific research papers to expand the lab's testing abilities Adhere to cGMPs, cGLPs, and internal procedures/policies Recommend ways to improve existing procedures/policies to improve testing outcomes • Manage inventory and order new supplies to maintain the Chemistry Laboratory on a routine basis • Communicate with other departments clearly and concisely (verbally and in writing) as to when products are expected to be released • Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines, improve efficiency, and uphold high-quality standards • Exercise professionalism, in part, communicate/collaborate with company personnel and our clients in a respectful manner Maintain logbooks including samples collected, scale calibration verification, and cleaning procedures Calibrate and/or schedule equipment to undergo routine preventive maintenance and calibration Assist the Quality Control Department and Quality Assurance Department when time permits ○ Perform additional tests including average capsule weight, disintegration, and friability ○ Destroy failed or rejected materials ○ Store samples in the short-term retain area and transfer retains to the long-term retain area ○ Review documents for completion and accuracy prior to releasing material to stock or to the Production Department ○ Report aberrant results or inconsistencies to the Quality Control Director ○ Conduct Out-of-Specification (OOS) investigations and/or Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA) plans ○ Issue deviations and/or rework plans ○ Issue document change request (DCR) forms when creating, revising, or terminating controlled documents ○ Inspect production rooms, equipment, materials, and records for compliance before releasing them to the Production Department to start a production ○ Collect temperature and humidity data throughout the warehouses and the Production Department twice per day In addition, the individual will need to have at least a bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related field, be experienced in nutraceutical or pharmaceutical manufacturing (at least 3 years), have exceptional attention to detail, be organized, be an expert in time management and multi-tasking, and be comfortable working independently and as a team to meet company needs.

This is a fast-paced environment and priorities can change in an instant. We need someone willing to stay late and/or work over the weekend on special occasions.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct quality control testing on raw materials, intermediates, and finished products
  • Perform analysis using various techniques such as microscopy, spectrophotometer, and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)
  • Maintain accurate records of all tests performed and results obtained
  • Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and good laboratory practices (GLP)
  • Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment
  • Assist in the development and validation of analytical methods
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to product quality
  • Utilize laboratory information management systems (LIMS) for data entry and analysis
Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of biochemistry and analytical chemistry principles
  • Proficiency in operating laboratory equipment such as spectrophotometers, microscopes, and HPLC systems
  • Experience with chromatography techniques (e.g., gas chromatography, liquid chromatography)
  • Familiarity with GLP regulations and guidelines
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in performing tests and recording data
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with colleagues from different departments
