Midlothian, TX 76065
Pay:
$26+ per hour, depending on experience Position Summary We are seeking a Chemist to conduct laboratory research, analytical testing, and quality control activities related to food, beverage, and cosmetic products. This position will analyze raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to ensure compliance with established quality and product specifications. Key Responsibilities Perform quality control testing and analytical analysis of raw materials, intermediate, and finished products. Conduct testing including pH, moisture, crude protein, heavy metals, organoleptic evaluation, and other required analyses. Evaluate the effects of processing, preservation, and packaging on product quality, including color, texture, aroma, taste, shelf life, and nutritional content. Record and evaluate test data using statistical quality control procedures. Prepare reports identifying compliance with or deviations from established standards. Recommend improvements to quality and production standards when appropriate. Perform destructive and nondestructive testing to evaluate product and material characteristics. Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and diagnose analytical laboratory instruments. Approve or reject materials and products based on established specifications. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or another related scientific discipline. 2-5 years of related laboratory or industry experience preferred , or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong analytical, mathematical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills. Ability to interpret technical procedures, professional journals, and applicable regulations. Proficiency with databases, spreadsheets, and word-processing software. Ability to work accurately and independently in a laboratory environment. Physical & Work Environment This role requires frequent sitting, use of hands, reaching, and occasional standing, walking, and lifting up to 10 pounds. The position may involve exposure to herbal powders, airborne particles, and chemicals used in wet chemistry analysis. Reasonable accommodations may be provided as needed.
