Job Description

Analytical Chemist - Full-time Libby Environmental, Inc - Olympia, WA Libby Environmental, Inc. is a locally owned environmental testing laboratory in Olympia, WA, specializing in the analysis of soil, water, and product samples for various contaminants, including VOCs, PCBs, petroleum hydrocarbons, and heavy metals. We are seeking a full-time Chemist to join our team. This job posting may also be used to fill other available positions, and a position may be created for the right candidate. Job Overview You will analyze samples at our fixed laboratory in Olympia, WA, with opportunities to repair instruments, write SOPs, lead training, and cross-train on new methods. Responsibilities
  • Independently extract and analyze samples.
  • Ability to coordinate with other members of staff to meet project deadlines.
  • Ensure that analysis adheres to quality control requirements.
  • Enter samples, upload data, and produce final reports in the LIM system.
  • Perform instrument maintenance and repair.
  • Maintain audit-ready documents for methods performed.
  • Maintain stock of supplies and reagents Qualifications Bachelor's degree in chemistry, environmental science, or a related field.
Experience with ICP-OES, CVAA, GC-ECD, GC-FID, GC-MS, or purge-and-trap preferred. Experience with Clinisys Element LIMS preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, CETAC QuickTrace, Agilent ICP Expert, Chemstation, Mass Hunter, and Peak Simple preferred. At least 2 years of laboratory experience is preferred. Ability to perform calculations and derive final results from instrument data. Valid Driver's License Physical Demands Ability to sit or stand for 8 hours. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Visual acuity and manual dexterity to handle delicate items. Benefits (waiting period may apply) Paid sick, vacation, and holidays. Simple IRA with up to 3% employer matching. Schedule:
8-12 hour shifts, Monday to Friday, with overtime as needed. Flexible schedule options available.
