We are looking for an entry level Chemist who will be responsible for sampling and quality control of incoming, blended, and unknown materials, as well as the associated quality records, and assuring compliance with the established CCI quality procedures and documentation. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing material quality control testing, material sampling, sample retention, data entry and maintenance, document control, and laboratory housekeeping. This is an entry-level Chemist I position with opportunities for growth and advancement for an individual who is eager to learn, develop their skills, and take on increasing responsibilities. Responsibilities Inspect incoming and outgoing products. Perform incoming material quality assurance tests, completing Lab requests in a timely manner, manufacturing specified laboratory and production solutions when appropriate, and assuring compliance with established

policies, procedures and documentation. Approve chemical labels and Certificates of Analysis. Maintain CCI Quality records and procedures. Maintain instruments, consumables, and calibration standards as directed by management. Assist with activities involving 3rd party analytical laboratories, including data analysis, sample preparation, and communication. Create continuous improvement in the consistency of chemical products. Execute, maintain, and improve safe laboratory and production practices and procedures. Develop, initiate and execute cost-effective procedures for inspection, testing, development and evaluation of CCI products and/or services in a timely manner to meet the needs of our internal and external customers. Assist with written lab procedures and QC procedures as needed. Develop and recommend effective inspection and sampling techniques as needed. Collaborate with managers of other departments to meet customer demands and employ best practices with standardized procedures whenever possible. Carry out special projects as directed by Management. Skills and Requirements Bachelor's degree in chemistry that includes classroom and laboratory courses in general and analytical chemistry, knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. May substitute experience for education. Basic knowledge of chemical analysis and good laboratory practices is required. Previous experience in a chemical manufacturing facility or laboratory is a plus. Must be computer literate and knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Office software and basic laboratory equipment, including but not limited to PH meters, automatic titrator, densitometer, and liquid particle counters. Previous ICP-MS experience is a plus, and will lead to additional opportunities with the CCI lab team (experience with Agilent ICP-MS is preferred). Willingness to cross train and learn new skills and instrumentation as our laboratory expands its capabilities is a plus. Columbus Chemical Industries, Inc. will provide all equipment and tools.
