A Clinical Investigator works on a clinical trial, and is responsible for ensuring that an investigation is conducted according to the signed investigator statement, the investigational plan, and applicable regulations; for protecting the rights, safety, and welfare of subjects under the investigator's care; and for the control of drugs under investigation. Position description Postdoctoral Scholar positions are occasionally available throughout the year in the Division of Biomedical Sciences in the School of Medicine at the University of California, Riverside. The Division is conducting an open search for Postdoctoral Scholars in various disciplines. Positions are filled as they become available based on the funds and priorities of different laboratories or research centers. Initial appointment for Postdoctoral Scholars is for two years, and renewal is based on availability of support. Successful candidates must also have clear potential or demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse student body. Salary commensurate with experience. The posted UC salary scales UCOP compensation index set the minimum pay determined by experience level at time of appointment. Postdoctoral Scholars receive annual salary increases on the basis of merit in accordance with established campus procedures. Postdoctoral Scholars Series Postdoctoral Scholars have recently completed a doctoral degree. They conduct research under the general oversight of a faculty member in preparation for a career position in academia, industry, government, or the nonprofit sector. These positions provide essential training and may include opportunities to enhance teaching and other professional skills. Postdoctoral Scholar candidates must possess a doctorate degree (e.g., Ph.D., M.D.) or the foreign equivalent.
