JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES

• In collaboration with principal investigators, Director, Medical Director and other members of the health care and research teams, organizes, implements and coordinates multiple clinical research protocols and research activities, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Ensures trauma and third party data is captured and made available for the purpose of conducting evidence based research, maximizing revenue, reporting and strategic decision-making.
• Provides coordination and monitoring of all research activities associated with trauma including all performance improvement and subspecialty research associated with trauma care.
• Provides consistent reports on the compliance of the Trauma program with research accreditation standards set forth by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma (ACSCOT).

II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Essential:

standing, sitting, walking, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking.

Frequent:

lifting and carrying usual weight of 5 pounds, reaching above, at and below shoulder level, frequent gripping of an object.

Occasional:

stooping, bending, kneeling, crawling, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, squatting, twisting body, repetitive arm and hand motions, lifting and carrying weights of up to 10 pounds, pushing and or pulling weights of up to 30 pounds of force with assistance, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods of time.

• Operates a telephone, computer, printer fax and copy machine hospital, equipment and instructional equipment as necessary.

III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS

• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
• Exposed to moving mechanical parts, chemicals, communicable diseases, and body fluids.

IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE

• Current Hawaii State license as a Registered Nurse.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
• Evidence of ongoing continuing education.
• Current certification in CPR at Healthcare Professional level.

B. EXPERIENCE

• Two (2) years recent nursing experience in an acute care facility.
• Evidence of education skills (patient/family/team members).
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
• Previous clinical research experience preferred.
