This is a unique opportunity for an experienced PA interested in applying their clinical expertise in the clinical research setting and contributing to the development of new and emerging therapies. The Physician Assistant will work closely with our Principal Investigators and clinical research team in the conduct of clinical trials across a variety of therapeutic areas, including cardiology and rheumatology. The ideal candidate is a clinically experienced, detail-oriented PA with strong assessment and decision-making skills who is interested in developing specialized expertise in clinical research. Key Responsibilities Conduct the Informed Consent Process with study participants and ensure participants understand study requirements, procedures, potential risks, and benefits. Perform comprehensive physical examinations, medical assessments, and protocol-required clinical evaluations. Review medical histories, laboratory results, diagnostic testing, and medications to assess participant eligibility and ongoing safety. Review and interpret clinical trial protocols, including inclusion and exclusion criteria, study procedures, and safety requirements. Assist the Principal Investigator in evaluating and confirming participant eligibility based on protocol requirements. Evaluate study participants throughout their participation and assess changes in clinical status. Assess and document adverse events and serious adverse events and promptly communicate clinically significant findings to the Principal Investigator and research team. Serve as a Sub-Investigator on applicable clinical trials following appropriate study-specific training and delegation by the Principal Investigator. Collaborate closely with Principal Investigators, other Sub-Investigators, clinical research coordinators, and other research staff to ensure participant safety and protocol compliance. Maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical and research documentation. Identify and communicate potential protocol deviations, safety concerns, and clinically significant findings to the Principal Investigator and research team. Ensure delegated study activities are performed in accordance with the study protocol, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), applicable regulations, and site procedures. Participate in study-specific training, investigator meetings, and other activities necessary to remain knowledgeable regarding assigned clinical trials. Qualifications Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program. Current and valid Illinois Physician Assistant license. Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail, organization, and clinical documentation. Ability to interpret complex clinical information and apply study-specific eligibility and safety criteria. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with physicians, research staff, and study participants. Current BLS certification required. Prior clinical research experience is preferred but not required. Training in clinical research, Good Clinical Practice, and study-specific requirements will be provided. Why Join Us?
