What they do

A Clinical Investigator works on a clinical trial, and is responsible for ensuring that an investigation is conducted according to the signed investigator statement, the investigational plan, and applicable regulations; for protecting the rights, safety, and welfare of subjects under the investigator's care; and for the control of drugs under investigation. The Clinical Investigator must also meet requirements set forth by the FDA, EMA or other regulatory body. The qualifications must be outlined in a current resume and readily available for auditors.

III NICU

located in Lake Charles, LA.

Opportunity Details:

The NICU includes 24/7 NNP in-house coverage. The NICU participates in the Vermont Oxford Network and eligible to participate in Ochsner system-based neonatal QI projects. This unique opportunity includes a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience with full benefits, paid relocation, and signing bonus.

Lake Charles is a family-oriented community located in the Southwest region of Louisiana. Lake Charles is located just 75 miles from Lafayette and 60 miles from Beaumont, Texas. Home of McNeese State University. Southwest Louisiana offers year-round outdoor activities and hosts over 75 annual festivals, from individual cities' Mardi Gras to Louisiana Pirate Festival to Christmas celebrations. Ochsner Health encompasses a combination of community level III and level IV NICU services across Louisiana. The Ochsner network serves the Gulf South region with an established ground and air neonatal transport system. Ochsner Children's includes:

  • More than 85 primary care pediatricians and 290+ subspecialists across 27 locations in Louisiana and Mississippi.
  • The region's leader in complex pediatric care, with advanced programs in: o Congenital heart surgery and cardiac transplantation o Liver and bone marrow transplantation o Hematology-Oncology and AYA Oncology o Advanced GI and Hepatology o A comprehensive surgical subspecialty group, including craniofacial and advanced spine surgery o The Gulf South's only comprehensive developmental pediatrics center Facilities & Growth • 67-bed Level IV NICU • 14-bed PICU and 12-bed CVICU • 4-bed NAEC-accredited Level IV Pediatric EMU • 44-bed Pediatric Acute Care Unit with a dedicated Pediatric ED • 24/7 neonatal and pediatric transport team with ground, rotary, and fixed-wing aircraft support • Future growth: construction underway for a new 5-story Children's Hospital , opening in late 2027/early 2028 and planned expansion of neonatal services Education & Research • ACGME-accredited pediatric residency program, plus the Ochsner Pediatric Residency Program .
  • Teaching opportunities with medical students from Tulane University and the University of Queensland .
