The Clinical Investigator must also meet requirements set forth by the FDA, EMA or other regulatory body. The qualifications must be outlined in a current resume and readily available for auditors.

Physician - Hematology / Oncology West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Medicine, Section of Hematology/Oncology and the WVU Cancer Institute are seeking a Physician - Hematology/Oncology qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Glen Dale, West Virginia. Successful candidate may also be assigned to provide services at other worksites, including but not necessarily limited to, West Virginia University Hospitals, Inc., West Virginia University Medical Corporation doing business as "University Health Associates," [etc.] located in West Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, Virginia, and Pennsylvania and, as such, travel is anticipated and expected to fulfill said duties at these other worksites. Enrollment of patients in clinical and translational research is a core institutional value supported by an excellent cancer clinical trials unit. Development of disease focused clinical and translational research within an individual faculty member's area of clinical focus is also encouraged, and start-up support is available through the Cancer Institute and the West Virginia Clinical and Translational Science Institute for qualified applicants.
Duties:
The successful candidate will practice in the areas of hematology/oncology. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
Qualifications:
Applicants must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical licensure. Candidates must have completed an accredited internal medicine residency and hematology/oncology or oncology fellowship and be board certified/eligible in oncology. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment. The WVU Cancer Institute is one of the country's top USNWR rated cancer treatment centers. Multidisciplinary medical teams use the latest cancer therapies, sophisticated technologies, and patient-driven research to deliver the best possible treatment in state-of-the-art facilities. We offer treatment to those in West Virginia as well as patients from five bordering states. We have a very active clinical trials program, pharmaceutical studies, and emerging statewide clinical trials network.
