A Clinical Investigator works on a clinical trial, and is responsible for ensuring that an investigation is conducted according to the signed investigator statement, the investigational plan, and applicable regulations; for protecting the rights, safety, and welfare of subjects under the investigator's care; and for the control of drugs under investigation. The Clinical Investigator must also meet requirements set forth by the FDA, EMA or other regulatory body. The qualifications must be outlined in a current resume and readily available for auditors.

West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Medicine seek General Internal Medicine physician qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV. This position will focus primarily on inpatient care with a small academic outpatient component for the Division of General Internal Medicine. At WVU, you will collaborate with a team of over 25 outstanding and experienced internists. All subspecialties are present and available for consultation within the clinic and hospital. Opportunities also exist in clinical research. Physicians with a special interest in global health would have an opportunity to participate in our rapidly expanding global health residency track.
Duties:
In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in the teaching of medical students and residents. For appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor rank, it is expected that candidates sustain an outstanding, extramurally supported research program.
Qualifications:
applicants must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible to obtain an unrestricted state medical license. Candidate must have completed an accredited internal medicine residency program at the time of appointment. For appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor rank, a demonstrated track-record of leadership, excellent communication skills, and publications in high-impact journals are required. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment. The West Virginia University Health System is West Virginia's largest health system and the state's largest employer.
