Job Description

The Clinical Value Analyst in Materials Management acts as a resource, facilitator & liaison between Materials Management and clinical areas to assure the cost-effective procurement and utilization of products to deliver optimum clinical and financial outcomes. The position will be responsible for assigned clinical product committees and related functions of agendas, product evaluations, and implementations. The focus of the position is to identify and implement product standardization and total cost per unit reductions while striving to improve patient outcomes.
Required Education:
Associate Degree Preferred Education:
Registered Nurse Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing preferred. Other clinical degrees/certifications will be considered.
Required Experience:
Proficient in use of Excel, Word, Keyboarding, Email, & Powerpoint.
Preferred Certification:
Clinical Licensed in State of Virginia and/or maintain Certification in field of expertise. Serves as key person for submission of all new clinical product request by clinicians, physicians, vendors, sales representatives from all clinical depts across all Centra facilities. Uses clinical knowledge & research to analyzes product request to current items used, FDA approvals, & processes with interdepartmental process for review of contract compliance, cost benchmarking, clinical efficacy & patient outcomes. Works with clinicians to identify correct products for use in clinical areas & specific patient needs using multiple sources. Works with vendors to identify new product technology. Organizes & leads projects involving multi-department / multi-facility new product evaluations and product changes. Takes lead in new product conversions. Develops agendas/meeting minutes for CQVA (Clinical Quality Value Analysis) / product committee meetings. Serves as Chairperson of assigned CQVA / product committee meetings. Responsible for meeting annual savings goals of assigned CQVA / product committee. Lead clinician representing Centra & participating/working with hospital network for Centra participation in group initiatives driving cost saving value. Develops product evaluation forms, physically provides evaluation return boxes to individual depts and collects evaluation forms, summarizes and provides feedback to CQVA committees. Works with MedSurg Distributor & internal Centra customers including Pharmacy to identify substitutions of products for vendor backorders & discontinued products. Responsible for follow-up of product defects to vendors & working with Risk Management Dept as needed. Maximizes current technological resources of the supply chain. Identify alternate vendors and products to achieve process efficiencies and cost reductions. Establishes and monitors supply chain goals in area of responsibility.
