Position Overview:

UNIVERSAL

Solutions, Inc. is seeking a motivated Staff- or Project-level Environmental Scientist or Geologist to support environmental assessment and remediation projects throughout Florida. This position includes a combination of fieldwork and office-based technical work, including environmental sampling, oversight of drilling and remediation activities, data evaluation, and technical report preparation. Staff-level candidates should have at least one year of relevant environmental consulting or field experience. Project-level candidates should have approximately three or more years of environmental consulting experience and be capable of performing assignments with greater independence. Experience with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection Petroleum Restoration Program is strongly preferred. Candidates with related experience in petroleum assessment, remediation, environmental due diligence, or regulatory compliance are also encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, dependable, comfortable working in the field, and interested in continuing to develop technical expertise in environmental assessment and remediation.

Primary Responsibilities:

Support environmental assessments, soil borings, monitoring well installations, sampling activities, and remediation system installations. Oversee or support soil boring and monitoring well installation activities. Evaluate and document subsurface conditions, including soil lithology, groundwater conditions, and evidence of environmental impacts. Collect soil, groundwater, and other environmental samples in accordance with applicable procedures and regulatory requirements. Oversee remedial construction, source removal, and other environmental field activities. Prepare accurate field documentation, including boring logs, well completion logs, calibration logs, sampling records, and daily field reports. Compile, analyze, and interpret environmental data for technical reports, tables, figures, and regulatory submittals. Prepare or support environmental permit applications, including FDOT right-of-way and NPDES permits. Support environmental due diligence and Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments. Coordinate with project managers, clients, subcontractors, laboratories, and regulatory personnel. Maintain company equipment and follow applicable health and safety procedures. Project-level candidates may also assist with project planning, scope and budget development, subcontractor coordination, regulatory communication, technical report preparation, and mentoring junior staff.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in geology, hydrogeology, environmental science, or a related scientific field from an accredited college or university. At least one year of relevant environmental consulting, environmental fieldwork, or related experience. Experience collecting or supporting the collection of soil and groundwater samples. Ability to maintain accurate, complete, and organized field documentation. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to work independently in the field and collaboratively as part of a project team. Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record. Willingness and ability to travel throughout Florida, including overnight stays. Ability to work outdoors in Florida weather conditions and perform the physical duties associated with environmental fieldwork. Ability to pass pre-employment drug testing.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with the Florida DEP Petroleum Restoration Program. Experience overseeing soil borings or monitoring well installations. Experience preparing boring logs, well completion logs, calibration logs, sampling records, and technical reports. Experience supporting Phase I or Phase II Environmental Site Assessments. Familiarity with environmental remediation systems and source removal activities. Familiarity with AutoCAD, Adobe Acrobat, and environmental data management. Current 40-hour
