Jog Road, WPB 36187 Performs specialized professional work administering the provisions of environmental ordinances and rules related to coastal environmental restoration projects. Designs, permits, manages, and monitors capital construction projects including beach re-nourishment, dune restoration, and inlet management. Prepares permit and grant funding applications; develops budgets, contracts, agreements, Board of County Commissioners' Agenda Items, and management and monitoring plans. Performs inter-/intra-agency and consultant coordination; produces technical reports; manages funding agreements; prepares materials to present at conferences, meetings, and general public outreach. Performs site inspections; conducts biological and physical monitoring; interprets, organizes, executes, and coordinates assignments under the general direction of the Environmental Program Supervisor. Work is performed with minimum supervision and is reviewed through conferences, reports, and feedback from the regulated community and special interest groups.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires qualified applicants to possess one of the following: A Master's Degree in one of the Physical or Natural Sciences, Environmental Studies, Planning, Geography, or Coastal Engineering; minimum of one (1) year of professional experience in environmental protection, environmental regulation, or natural resources management OR six (6) months of professional experience working directly in coastal, reef, and estuarine management and construction, OR A Bachelor's Degree in one of the Physical or Natural Sciences, Environmental Studies, Planning, Geography, or Coastal Engineering; minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in environmental protection, environmental regulation, or natural resources management OR one (1) year of professional experience working directly in coastal, reef, and estuarine management and construction, OR An unrelated Bachelor's Degree; minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in environmental protection, environmental regulation, or natural resources management OR two (2) years of professional experience working directly in coastal, reef, and estuarine management and construction, OR An Associate's Degree; minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in environmental protection, environmental regulation, or natural resources management OR four (4) years of professional experience working directly in coastal, reef, and estuarine management and construction. OR Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of six (6) years of professional experience in environmental protection, environmental regulation, or natural resources management OR five (5) years of professional experience working directly in coastal, reef, and estuarine management and construction.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications include (must specify each on application) : Experience with construction project management and environmental assessment and monitoring, Contract or grant administration experience, Inter-agency coordination and public outreach experience, Experience creating maps using AutoCAD or ArcGIS mapping software, and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Remote Pilot Certification.
