https://forms.gle/KrewwebyVXPGdKNM6 Led by the Kansas Association for Conservation and Environmental Education (KACEE), the Environmental Education Corps (eeCorps) AmeriCorps Program places AmeriCorps members at organizations throughout Kansas to focus on increasing environmental literacy for PreK-12 students and implementing the goals outlined in the Kansas Environmental Education Plan. eeCorps works directly with teachers, schools, and environmental education providers to support them in expanding the reach and increasing the impact of EE programming, while providing access to equitable learning experiences for all PreK-12 students. As a STEAM & Nature Educator AmeriCorps member at the Kansas Children's Discovery Center, you'll create and lead playful, nature-based learning experiences for children and families, both on-site and through outreach. You'll design hands-on activities focused on ecology, sustainability, and STEAM, support public programs and environmental events, and help care for outdoor learning spaces. You'll also lead staff sustainability efforts, build community partnerships, and contribute to the museum's mission of accessible, inclusive education through joyful discovery.
Member Duties :
Some of the activities may include, but are not limited to creating and delivering hands-on, developmentally appropriate activities, field trips, and camp experiences, support the planning and execution of environmentally themed special events, public programs, and Mobile Museum initiatives, oversee care and upkeep of the outdoor learning areas, provide exceptional customer service in indoor and outdoor spaces, welcoming all guests, members, and volunteers, launch and coordinate a staff Sustainability Team, offering biannual trainings on responsible resource use, foster relationships with local environmental organizations, assist with the education team with scheduling, program logistics, and maintaining records, communicate with team members, track progress and collect evaluation data for the program's performance measures, attend all eeCorps/AmeriCorps orientations and training, complete any eeCorps required National Day of Service projects
