Northville, MI or Seymour, IN Position Summary The Data Platform Environment Specialist is responsible for the daily operation of the data platform, mainly using Microsoft Fabric. As data from many business areas across AISIN North America is expected to grow, this role is very important for ensuring system reliability, stable operations, and data security. Position Responsibilities The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position: Build, maintain, and continuously improve the data platform environment. Operate and manage cloud-based data platforms. Administer and maintain databases, data lake, and data warehouse environments. Support the operation of data pipelines and ETL/ELT processing platforms. Monitor systems and performance and respond to incidents and service disruptions. Plan and implement initiatives to improve the availability, stability, and performance of data platforms. Analyze resource utilization and optimize operational costs. Manage backup, restore, and Disaster Recovery (DR) plans and procedures. Implement security policies and ensure compliance with data governance requirements. Manage user access controls and integrate with authentication and identity management systems. Develop and maintain standards, policies, and operational procedures for data platforms. Lead environment change management activities, including releases, patching, and system upgrades. Provide environments and technical support to development teams. Collaborate closely with IT infrastructure team members. Support system audits and compliance-related activities. Evaluate data platform technologies and assess opportunities for adopting new technologies. Other tasks and duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities Essential Skills and Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in implementing and operating AI Power Data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric. Strong knowledge of cloud-based data platforms and infrastructure management. Experience with databases, data lakes, data warehouses, and data pipeline operations. Proficiency in SQL, data modeling, and ETL/ELT technologies. Experience with system monitoring, performance tuning, and incident management. Understanding of security, access management, backup, and disaster recovery processes. Knowledge of Data Governance, DataOps, and DevOps practices. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Ability to optimize platform performance, scalability, and operational costs. Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Willingness to evaluate and adopt emerging technologies. Beneficial Skills and Experience Knowledge of use cases such as AI/ML and advanced analytics. Experience in a manufacturing industry (Automotive industry preferred). Education/Training/Certifications Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business or a related field. Microsoft Azure and/or Microsoft Fabric certifications are highly preferred. Cloud Services and Databases certifications are beneficial.
Requirements:
Travel Requirements Approximately 30 %. Must be willing and available to travel to such locations and with such frequency as is necessary and desirable to meet business needs.
