Job Description

The Environmental Specialist - Janitorial Position maintains all aspects of environmental and janitorial duties in a safe, efficient, and professional manner. Works specifically at recreation centers. Duty hours are flexible; Monday through Friday not to exceed 20 hours per week. Must be available to work other duty hours as necessary for special projects. Ensures restrooms, common areas, entrances, and exits are clean and free from safety hazards. Removes trash from the building as needed. Involves mopping, vacuuming, sweeping, and dusting. Cleaning carpets. Cleans toilets, sinks, mirrors, locker rooms and showers. Maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies. Performs other general cleaning duties as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Good communication skills with demonstrated ability to work with a team to accomplish goals and objectives. Ability to safely perform tasks associated with the job. Knowledge of environmental and cleaning procedures. Ability to effectively prioritize work and time management. Completion of a High School Diploma. Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the State of North Carolina. Must be able to frequently/repeatedly stand; walk; use hands and exert forces needed to perform the duties of the job. Ability to reach with hands and arms and perform elevated work for periods of time; Ability to climb ladders and keep balance as needed. Must be able to frequently lift, push, pull and/or move more than 50 pounds.
