About the Opportunity A1 Tank Guys is looking for an experienced Subsurface Evaluator to join our growing environmental services operation full time. We specialize in underground heating oil tank removal, soil investigation, environmental sampling, remediation, and NJDEP case closure throughout New Jersey. We currently work with outside environmental professionals but are expanding our operation and exploring bringing this position in house. We have a consistent volume of underground tank removal and environmental projects and are looking for the right person who wants to become an important part of a growing company. This is not strictly an office position. We are looking for someone who understands both the field and reporting sides of environmental work and can help manage a project from sampling through NJDEP submission and closure. Responsibilities Perform soil and groundwater sampling associated with underground heating oil tank projects Conduct onsite environmental evaluations following underground tank removals and soil remediation projects Prepare NJDEP compliant reports and documentation for UHOT cases Prepare and submit Remedial Investigation Reports, Remedial Action Reports, and other applicable NJDEP documentation Review laboratory analytical results and determine appropriate next steps Coordinate sampling requirements with our field crews and project management team Maintain accurate project files and environmental documentation Communicate with laboratories, clients, NJDEP, and other environmental professionals when necessary Assist with soil investigations, remediation projects, and case closure Help develop efficient internal procedures as we continue bringing more environmental services in house Qualifications We are primarily interested in candidates with direct New Jersey environmental experience.

The ideal candidate will have:

Current New Jersey Subsurface Evaluator certification or qualifications applicable to performing this work Experience with

NJDEP UHOT

cases and reporting Experience collecting soil and groundwater samples Experience reviewing environmental laboratory analytical results Strong report writing and documentation skills Understanding of NJDEP regulations and reporting requirements Ability to work independently and manage multiple active projects Good communication and organizational skills Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites throughout New Jersey Experience with underground heating oil tanks, petroleum contaminated soil, excavation oversight, EPH analysis, soil remediation, and residential real estate transactions is highly desirable.
