Lead emergency response planning efforts, including hazard assessments, contingency planning, and incident management protocols. Coordinate emergency management activities utilizing Incident Command System (ICS) principles to ensure swift and effective responses to environmental incidents. Write compelling grant proposals to secure funding for climate resilience initiatives and sustainability projects. Deliver engaging public speaking presentations to educate stakeholders about climate risks, resilience strategies, and emergency preparedness procedures. Manage volunteer teams during community outreach events, training sessions, and disaster response activities. Oversee program development from inception through execution, ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints while maintaining high standards of quality. Qualifications Proven experience in emergency response readiness, incident management, hazard mitigation, or related fields within government agencies or public health sectors. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively and foster collaboration across diverse groups. Excellent written communication skills for grant proposals, reports, policy documents, and public outreach materials. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for data analysis, reporting, and presentations. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures aligned with industry standards such as ICS. Experience in program management including budgeting, project planning, and stakeholder engagement. Knowledge of public health principles related to environmental hazards and disaster preparedness. Exceptional public speaking skills to effectively communicate complex concepts to varied audiences. Ability to coordinate emergency response activities swiftly while maintaining focus on safety protocols and incident command procedures. Applicant requirements : Possession of a Bachelor's degree in the environmental, biological, or chemical sciences or in environmental engineering (a valid Professional Engineer's License issued by the New Jersey State Board of Professional Engineer's and Land Surveyors may be substituted for the degree in environmental engineering). One (1) year of professional experience in environmental control work including field investigations and inspections and environmental impact analysis (Possession of an environmentally oriented Master's degree in the environmental, biological, or chemical sciences, or in engineering may be substituted for the above work experience).
