Step into Your New Role We are seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist / Ecologist to join our EP&P team in our Sewickley, PA office.
Job Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will lead field teams in wetland delineations, prepare technical reports, prepare permitting applications to federal, state, and local entities, manage the environmental task in project schedules, and coordinate with internal and external groups to complete project tasks and goals. This is a client facing role, the candidate will be required to convey project related information to a variety of clients. The work will involve primarily technical writing for permitting, environmental task management, and leading field efforts including wetland delineations, site assessments, environmental inspections, endangered species surveys, habitat assessments, and other studies.
Position Requirements:
7-15 years of consulting experience. Experience conducting wetland delineations in accordance with the
USACE 1987
Wetland Delineation Manual and supporting Regional Supplements. Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills. Comprehensive understanding and experience preparing of Section 404, 10, and 401WQC. Knowledge of environmental laws and regulations, specifically pertaining to wetlands and listed wildlife species. Ability to work flexible work schedules and availability to meet priority deadlines outside of normal working hours. A valid driver's license.
Education & Certifications:
BS in an Environmental, Biological or Ecological Science, or Environmental Policy; Masters in a relevant field of study is a plus. 40-hour USACE wetland training.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Plant and wildlife identification skills and survey and permitting protocols. Excellent planning and organizational skills with strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills. Experience operating GPS units under ArcGIS or Terrasync programs. Experience in ArcGIS or AutoCAD. Ability to conduct work year-round in adverse climate and field conditions. Ability to prioritize effort and effectively be engaged on multiple projects at one time. Experience developing and completing Threatened and endangered species surveys, and coordination with the USFWS Following an offer, candidates will be required to satisfactorily complete employment reference checks, verification of professional licensure and/or educational credentials, a motor vehicle report (MVR), and a comprehensive background check.
