Job Title:
Environmental Analyst II - Cultural Resources / ArchaeologyJob Description This role focuses on supporting cultural resource management efforts by planning, directing, conducting, and reviewing archaeological and cultural resource surveys. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure regulatory compliance and successful delivery of multiple projects, contributing directly to environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives across large-scale infrastructure and construction programs. Responsibilities + Plan, direct, and execute archaeological and cultural resource surveys in support of cultural resource management programs. + Conduct background research, screening, and field investigations related to cultural resources and archaeological sites. + Review, prepare, and refine technical reports that document findings and support cultural resource management and regulatory compliance efforts. + Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and environmental requirements, including those related to cultural resources and water quality. + Manage and oversee multiple projects simultaneously, including prioritizing tasks, coordinating schedules, and aligning resources to meet deadlines. + Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as project engineers, legal teams, and leadership, as well as external partners and third-party representatives, to support project planning and execution. + Utilize GIS tools to support mapping, analysis, and reporting related to cultural resources and environmental compliance. + Support construction stormwater compliance programs, including activities related to Clean Water Act requirements, NPDES, GESA, SWPPP/SWP3, ENS plans, and state-level environmental programs. + Conduct or support site inspections, water quality compliance activities, and documentation using systems such as GEOS and other regulatory platforms. + Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies that enhance environmental compliance and sustainability across active projects. Essential Skills + Graduate-level degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a closely related discipline. + Minimum of 3 years of experience in cultural resource management (CRM). + At least 1 year of supervisory or project leadership experience overseeing field teams or project activities. + Demonstrated experience conducting archaeological surveys, including planning, fieldwork, and documentation. + Experience preparing and reviewing technical reports related to cultural resources and regulatory compliance. + Strong understanding of environmental and regulatory compliance, including experience with the Clean Water Act and related programs. + Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines. + Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple functional groups and with external stakeholders. + Experience with GIS tools to support mapping, spatial analysis, and reporting. + Experience with environmental compliance programs such asNPDES, GESA, SWPPP/SWP3, ENS
plans, and water quality requirements. + Familiarity with state-level environmental regulatory frameworks and agencies, including systems such as GEOS and programs administered by state environmental protection departments. + Ability to conduct and document site inspections related to environmental and stormwater compliance. Additional Skills & Qualifications + 5 or more years of experience in cultural resource management (CRM). + 2 or more years of supervisory or leadership experience managing teams or complex projects. + Advanced experience with GIS tools and applications for cultural resource and environmental analysis. + Experience conducting cultural resource screening and background research to support project planning and permitting. + Experience reviewing reports and technical documentation prepared by others, with attention to regulatory and quality standards. + Interest in working at the intersection of cultural resources, environmental compliance, and large-scale infrastructure and construction projects. + Motivation to engage with complex regulatory frameworks, including NPDES, the Clean Water Act, and GESA, and to support sustainability-focused initiatives. Work Environment This position offers a blend of office-based and field-based work, with approximately 75% of time spent in the office and 25% in the field supporting construction stormwater compliance programs. Standard business hours are generally 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with flexibility based on project needs and typical start times between 7:00 AM and 8:30 AM. The role follows a hybrid schedule, with in-office work from Monday through Thursday and remote work on Fridays. You will travel within Georgia to support field inspections, including occasional overnight stays when required. The work environment involves alternating between field-based inspection days and office-based administrative and analytical days, using GIS tools, regulatory systems, and standard office technology to support cultural resource and environmental compliance activities. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Atlanta, GA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00/hr.
