Environmental Planner - II

We are partnering with a growing engineering and consulting organization seeking an experienced Environmental Planner / Environmental Project Manager to support transportation and water infrastructure projects across the Upper Midwest. This is a strategic growth hire offering the opportunity to play a key role in expanding environmental services while helping build and mentor an environmental team. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience with NEPA documentation, environmental permitting, agency coordination, and transportation-related environmental planning. This position is ideally based in Fargo, ND, though remote flexibility may be considered for the right individual. What You'll Be Doing Prepare and manage NEPA documentation including: Environmental Assessments (EA) Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) Categorical Exclusions (CE) Support transportation and water infrastructure projects requiring environmental planning and permitting Coordinate with public agencies, regulatory entities, and project stakeholders Prepare environmental permits related to: Clean Water Act Sections 10/404 401 Water Quality Certifications USFWS Section 7 Consultations Review wetland delineations and jurisdictional determinations Collaborate with project managers and technical teams on environmental planning efforts Participate in business development, proposal preparation, and client presentations Assist with budgeting and project planning efforts Support hiring and mentoring of future environmental staff Participate in public meetings, informational sessions, and stakeholder communication efforts Travel as needed for project meetings, site visits, and client engagements What They're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Natural Resource Management, Planning, Biology, or related field 5+ years of environmental planning and permitting experience Strong experience preparing NEPA documentation Experience with transportation or public infrastructure projects preferred Knowledge of environmental permitting and agency coordination Experience authoring Environmental Assessments and Environmental Impact Statements highly preferred Familiarity working with agencies in North Dakota and Minnesota is a plus Strong written and verbal communication skills Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Valid driver's license required IND2

Pay:

$90,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
