Hiring Staff Environmental Engineer /
Geologist Location:
NYC Level:
Mid‑Level to APM (3-7 years) Join a highly respected environmental and geotechnical consulting firm known for tackling complex urban remediation and redevelopment projects across NYC. This is an opportunity to work on meaningful, technically challenging sites while being mentored by senior technical leaders. If you're looking to deepen your expertise in environmental remediation, brownfields, and urban site investigation, this role offers hands‑on experience across the full project lifecycle.Responsibilities:
Conduct field investigations and site reconnaissance on active environmental and geotechnical projects Support subsurface explorations (soil borings, Geoprobe, test pits) Perform soil, groundwater, and bedrock sampling in accordance with ASTM standards Assist with Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) Compile, analyze, and interpret environmental and geological data Support remedial investigations, construction monitoring, and field oversight Prepare technical reports, proposals, and client deliverables What Makes This Role Different Complex NYC sites : Brownfields, redevelopment, infrastructure‑adjacent properties Real technical growth : Exposure beyond basic fieldwork into interpretation and design Strong mentorship : Learn directly from technical experts Balanced firm culture : Mid‑size feel with national resources and stability Clear career path : Support toward PE/PG licensure and long‑term development Skills & Qualifications- B.S. degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or other related
- 2+ years of professional services consulting experience that includes execution of Phase I/Phase II environmental assessments
- OSHA 40-hr. HAZWOPER and OSHA 30-hr. Construction Site Safety training, and NYCDOB Training Connect Site Safety Training Card
- Field experience with sampling, investigations, or construction monitoring Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New York, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70000.00
