JT4, LLC
provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.
JOB DUTIES - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Working under the direction of the ES&H supervisor, an ES&H Specialist II performs general environmental and/or safety support services, investigations, analyses, and other-directed assignments as either a member of a team or as an investigator.
Employee will be responsible for performing the following functions/duties: Assess and mitigate workplace hazards, perform studies and analysis, and workplace inspections
Conduct mishap(s) and incident investigations and generate reports
Interpret applicable regulations and ensure compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Air Force directives, and local safety policies and procedures
Apply confined spaces, lockout/tagout, hazardous waste requirements, and industrialized operation procedures
Identify and evaluate environmental or safety hazards and make recommendations for corrective actions
Participate in informal reviews, inspections, and audits using established procedures
Assist in the maintenance and inventory of equipment and systems
Analyze data gathered from literature or collected from investigations
Maintain familiarity with the statutory requirements related to the environmental, safety, and/or health regulations
Develops and manages comprehensive safety training programs and compliance level training courses
Ensures annex wide supervisory communication to maintain 100% training completion status
Travels to remote locations to conduct safety training, perform compliance audits and ensure adherence to all safety practices
Designs, implements and oversees all training initiatives from development to completion
Perform other job-related duties, as required.
REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE
A bachelor's degree in an ES&H-related field (i.e., engineering, chemistry, biology, or other science) is preferred or an in-depth, working knowledge of the technical concepts, principles, and requirements associated with the work unit is required for this position. This knowledge and these skills may be obtained by graduation from a two- to four-year technical institute or college, or equivalent formal technical training or military equivalent, and six (6) or more years of experience in a directly related technical working environment.
In addition, an ES&H Specialist II must possess the following qualifications: Working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Planning/organizational skills
Ability to work under deadlines
Ability to perform detail-oriented work
Experience in construction trades and accident recreation and investigations is highly desirable

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in a typical office environment. Occasional lifting (up to 75 pounds), sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness are required. Work is also performed in a large, active and remote environment. In regular and extreme weather conditions. Requirements can vary day to day or moment to moment and you'll need to be flexible and capable of doing this. The foregoing conditions and physical requirements represent the general characteristics required to perform the essential functions for this job. In general, all positions may require standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Specific work assignments will include additional environmental conditions or physical requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of the job. These specific requirements will be detailed in the interview process and assessed on the job as needed.
JT4 employees will only operate equipment that they have been fully trained on and/or certified to operate. If working in a training capacity, employees must be always supervised by a competent trained or certified company employee. Under no circumstances should employees use another employee's equipment without permission from their immediate supervisor or manager. Conversely, employees should not allow other JT4 employees or employees of another employer to use JT4-owned or assigned equipment without proof of training and approval of the shop manager.
Travel to remote company locations will be required.
