Associate Environmental Specialist 0-2 years' experience Environmental Specialist 2 3 years' experience Environmental Specialist 3 5-7 years' experience Sr.
Environmental Specialist:
At least 10 years' relevant experience

Education Bachelor (Typically four years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.) Preferred Degree Engineering or Science
  • Provides technical support to environmental regulatory review process and environmental program compliance. This includes permitting, analyzing local, state, and federal environmental regulations, and licensing of current and future company facilities.
  • Leads implementation and coordination of environmental analyses pertaining to air programs, to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Manages, from inception to completion, air quality impact assessments and air permitting requirements for complex projects.
  • Analyzes environmental regulatory requirements, for air pollution impact assessment and imposed regulatory limitations and develops management compliance plan.
  • Prepares position papers and technical reviews on the scientific and regulatory aspects of air quality impact analyses.
  • Coordinates environmental permitting activities for company facilities and operations.
  • Provides expert testimony and presentations on air quality issues.
  • Evaluates special projects and serves as coordinator or team leader.
  • Represents company on various industry committees.
  • Negotiates compliance issues of operating facilities with regulatory agency inspectors, to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Develops and conducts environmental compliance training.
  • Inspects and advises on operations, construction, procedures, records, and training for facilities, across several states.
  • Ensures compliance with environmental requirements, prescribed by-laws, regulations, company policies, and company procedures.
  • Uses electronic databases to analyze and monitor company compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provides emergency response direction and expertise, to address environmental emergencies such natural gas releases.
  • Minimizes impacts to the environment, company regulatory exposure, and response cost.
