PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Safe Environment Coordinator will support parishes and schools and related entities with compliance to the policies and procedures associated with the Bishops' Charter to Protect Children and Young People.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
"Embrace the mission and vision of the Catholic Diocese of Green Bay and work in accordance with Catholic Teachings and the moral and ethical values of the Catholic Church." Preferred Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Resources, psychology, Pastoral Ministry, Counseling, or related field with 5 years of direct experience in such field. Knowledge of or desire to learn conflict resolution strategies and their application to others. Knowledge of or desire to learn the Catholic Church structure and hierarchy, practicing Catholic preferred. Thorough understanding of the diocese's policies and procedure regarding USCCB Charter of Child and Youth Protection. Strong written and oral communications; listening skills are critical to success in this position. Strong organizational skills and attentive to detail and follow up on issues. Adult training concepts and delivery. High level of confidentiality and ability to work with sensitive information. Problem analysis, solving and decision-making skills in the area of human relations. Time Management, Conflict Resolution, Public Speaking. Administrative and managerial competence. Computer skills for word processing, e-mail, or presentations. Comfort level in situations that demand discretion in complex situations and a high degree of interpersonal conflict. Pastoral approach balanced with tenacity. Sensitivity, empathy, diplomacy, and ability to demonstrate respect and care for those seeking services. Ability to manage the workload while maintaining high standards for the quality of work and confidentiality. Self-motivated to take initiative in providing and requesting information.
